How to help the homeless

Do you know how to help the homeless?

When somebody asks you how to help the homeless – what springs to mind? Often, people offer up the same responses. We're all familiar with the old phrase: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” Samuel put that adage into action when he came across Bobby, a homeless man. Bobby asked Samuel for £2 for food, which Samuel gave but there was a bonus. He offered him the opportunity to earn £2,000. All Bobby had to do was attend the free crash course in a few days time. Samuel would give him £2,000 for simply attending. Instead of wondering how to help the homeless man, Samuel decided to take real action.

Of course, it's not that straight-forward to attend an event when you don't have cash, a phone, access to internet or a credit card to reserve the space at the event. Bobby had three days to figure out how to get his name on the register. At the end of this video, Samuel has the idea of doing a homeless-to-financial freedom challenge. How amazing would that be? There are an estimated 320,000 homeless people in the UK, according to The Big Issue. What would the impact be if we turned their attention away from begging on the street and instead, towards education. That doesn't mean putting them through schooling but simply giving them the tools to become financially free.

It's a complex issue. How do you think Bobby fared? Do you think he made it to the event? Keep your eyes peeled across Samuel's social media!
