If I make so much “money in property” WHY BOTHER TEACHING OTHERS!?

In this article I want to share with you why I have a YouTube channel, why I teach people about property investment, why I write books and why I run courses. I want to share with you what my agenda and what my motivation is.

The reason I'm doing this is because I can remember (when I started going to courses and reading books like Rich Dad, Poor Dad) thinking,‘If Robert Kiyosaki is so successful, and if he is financially free and doesn't have to work, what's his motivation for writing a book and teaching others?

I couldn't understand it. I used to go to seminars and look at the person on stage and think, ‘If you're financially free and you don't have to work, why are you on stage giving up your time sharing?’ I didn't really understand it.

Now fast forward 12 years. I'm 30 years old and I run one of the largest property education companies, I have a YouTube channel and I put out videos every day. So I just figured if you're anything like I was, or if you're anything like me, maybe sometimes you think, ‘What is Samuel's motivation?’ So in this article, I wanted to open up and explain.

1. I Enjoy It

I used to think when I became financially free, I would just want to sit on a beach and do nothing. But there is nothing more boring. When I took some time off after the birth of my first child, after 6 months I just wanted to get out and work again. Just because someone is financially free and doesn’t have to work, doesn’t mean they don’t want to work.

It is really important for me to be active and doing something. I like getting out there and solving problems. That is one reason why I teach.

2. Making Connections And Friendships

Another reason I teach is because I make a lot of connections and friendships from teaching. I do a lot of business with my success students. You may think everyone wants to be your friend when you are rich, but the reality is the more successful you get the more lonely you get (at least in my experience). My students that become financially free and very successful have become my personal friends. So friendships are another reason.

3. Making Learning Fun

When I started out I found so many trainers and mentors boring, particularly as I have ADHD and dyslexia. I decided that if I ever became successful, I would try to teach others in a simple and fun way. I feel that I have a gift of communication and can take complex topics and make them simple. So many people try to make things more complex so that they seem smarter or, perhaps, to stop people understanding how to make money. I want to offer an alternative to that.

4. Fulfilment

Now you probably are thinking money must be a big motivator. But training isn’t particularly profitable for me. I don’t take a salary from my training company, and I don’t really make much at all from YouTube. That isn’t to say I think there would be anything wrong with making money from training, but it just isn’t a major motivation. My property business is very profitable, but even there it isn’t my main motivation. Now that I am wealthy, it is really about one thing: fulfilment.

Fulfilment means living my life the way I want to live it; having my family around me; pulling people up and helping others become financially free. I know I won’t be remembered for making a lot of money. Many people are richer than me. But I will be remembered for the people I have helped. That’s my main motivation now.
