What is good about Reform UK? As it happens, quite a lot! This isn’t about Nigel Farage or personalities, but about the policies Reform proposes! 1. What Is Good About Reform UK?: Anyone Who Comes Illegally Via Boats Will Be Sent Back!
While I am a big supporter of legal immigration, when people are coming here to work, I don’t support illegal immigration. When people come to take from the system rather than contribute, we need to send them back!
2. What Is Good About Reform UK?: Raising The Tax-Free Threshold To £20,000 Per Year!
The threshold for when you have to pay income tax hasn’t risen with inflation. This means people on the lower end of the income scale have been unfairly taxed. Raising the threshold to £20k goes some way to correcting that!
3. What Is Good About Reform UK?: Scrapping Net Zero. Using Our Own Reserves Of Oil And Gas. Making Energy Bills Cheaper.
Energy bills are going up, with some people having to choose between heating or eating. We need to bring energy costs down as soon as possible, and this seems like the best solution!
4. What Is Good About Reform UK?: Abolishing The Renter’s Reform Bill!
Landlords are becoming more heavily regulated, and it is making the business much less viable for many people.
Property investors are turning their properties into serviced accommodation, and using other creative property strategies. This means fewer homes for long term rental. Abolishing the Renter’s Reform Bill will start to correct the balance, and bring homes on to the rental market again.
5. What Is Good About Reform UK?: Abolishing Inheritance Tax For Estates Under £2 Million!
People save all their lives and pay their taxes. Then, when they leave property to their children, they are taxed again!
Raising the inheritance tax threshold to £2 million will help to protect families, and make things fairer for everyone!
6. What Is Good About Reform UK?: Zero Stamp Duty On Properties Under £750k!
Having no stamp duty on properties below £750k will mean that most people buying residential property will be exempt.
This change will make it easier for people to buy a home, and protect ordinary people as house prices continue to rise.
7. What Is Good About Reform UK?: Scrapping Section 24 Tax!
Section 24 stops landlords from claiming mortgage interest payments as an expense on their taxes. This means that a landlord can actually be losing money, and still be paying tax! This is totally unfair, and it is about time it was scrapped!
8. What Is Good About Reform UK?: Making It Easier To Develop Land By Adding Fast Track!
Allowing fast track planning approval for development will mean that houses are built faster. Not only is this good for developers, like myself, it will also help to end the housing crisis!
If the government gets out of the way and lets the private sector build, we will be in a much better position as a nation!
9. What Is Good About Reform UK?: Abolishing Business Rates For High Street SMEs!
At a time when high street stores are struggling due to online shopping, business rates are killing small retailers.
Exempting small and medium-sized enterprises from business rates for their shops will help to bring back high streets across the nation!
10. What Is Good About Reform UK?: Reforming Social Housing By Prioritising People Born In The UK!
I support legal immigration, where people come in to contribute, however the benefit system should be for UK citizens!
Reform’s policy of prioritising people born in the UK for social housing makes sense, and will ensure immigration doesn’t hurt the most deprived communities in the country!
