Is Buy-To-Let Dead In The UK? 3 Shocking Ways Private Landlords Are Being Replaced!

Is Buy-To-Let Dead In The UK?: I was recently interviewed by Nigel Farage, on GB News, about the government’s attack on private landlords. In the video, I explain how the government are taxing and regulating individual landlords, while allowing big businesses to take their place!

It is getting hard to be a landlord in the UK. More and more landlords are asking: ‘is buy-to-let dead?’ There are more taxes and rules now, which make it hard to make a profit. In the interview with Nigel, I explain what is actually going on in the private rental sector. If you want to watch the interview, you can find it on my YouTube channel or at the top of this page.

While individual landlords are feeling the squeeze, there are now players coming to the market that are doing very well. In this article, I will give you 3 ways private landlords are being replaced. If you have ever wondered about the large entities buying up huge numbers of UK homes, and what it means for you, make sure to read this one until the end.

I want to get the message out about private landlords being replaced, but I need your help to do it! We need to wake people up before it is too late, and the ownership of property is centralised. Please can you share this blog post on your social media pages? This will help bring awareness to this issue and allow people to protect themselves from what is coming.

1. Is Buy-To-Let Dead In The UK?: Banks And Corporations!

As individual landlords are exiting the market due to the tax and regulatory burden put on them, large corporations and banks are moving in! Lloyds Bank, for example, plans to become the UK’s biggest residential landlord.

These massive companies can buy at scale, and hold property for the long term. This means that in the future, it will be much harder for individuals to own property. While some may support the government’s attack on landlords, they are really putting property into the hands of massive corporations!

2. Is Buy-To-Let Dead In The UK?: Overseas Institutions!

It isn’t just UK corporations getting in on the action, though. Blackstone, a US based investment manager, which has over 1 trillion dollars in assets under management, is buying UK homes. The company is buying new builds and renting them out to tenants.

At a time when regular private landlords are under pressure, overseas institutions are standing ready to take over large parts of the UK residential rental market. Once these companies own a large amount of homes, they will keep them for the long-term or trade them between each other. This could be the end of homeownership for the average person!

3. Is Buy-To-Let Dead In The UK?: Migrant Accommodation!

Landlords hit with extra regulations and taxes are looking for an easy out! The government has contracted companies like Serco to house asylum seekers. These companies, in turn, offer to rent properties from landlords on a long-term contract. This allows landlords to collect a passive income, with the company taking care of the property’s maintenance.

This is a tempting offer for many landlords, particularly if their properties are now no longer profitable. But it means there are fewer houses on the market for local people, and once again corporations are in control of residential homes!
