Is NOW a good time to buy? Housing Market Update 2022

Is now the best time to buy in the property market or should you wait for the crash? I say now is a great time to invest, and in a recent video for my YouTube channel I explained why! People often want to put off investing in property and other assets. Sometimes people don’t want to invest because the market is down, other times because the market is up. Whatever the market conditions, people will find a reason why now simply isn’t the right time.

Most people end up not investing at all because they spend all their time waiting for the exact right moment that simply never arrives. I don’t want you to miss out on your opportunity to grow your wealth because of procrastination. Therefore, I am going to provide you with some facts so you can make an informed decision. In this article, I will give you 3 reasons why now is the perfect time to buy UK property.

1. What alternative is there?

If you don’t invest your money in property, where will you invest it? If you leave it in the bank, inflation will eat away at its purchasing power. This is particularly true right now with historic rates of inflation here in the UK. Maybe you want to buy cryptocurrency with your money, but crypto has had a massive crash recently. Maybe you want to invest in a business, but that will really depend on the business you choose.

There is always a reason to say now isn’t a good time. This is true in any investment and any area of life. It is important to think long term, and pick something that you think will go up over the next 10 years.

2. Property gives you rent

Even if property prices crash, that doesn’t matter if the property is paying you to keep it! You can hold a property through a recession without worrying as long as there is good cash flow that covers your mortgage, maintenance, bills and pays you a nice profit each month. Property is a long term investment and you shouldn’t be thinking about its price on a day-to-day basis.

Many other investments do not have any cash flow and therefore you may need to sell them in the short term. In the case of property, you may decide never to sell and still grow wealthy off the rental returns.

3. Property prices double every 10 years

While past performance is no indication of future outcomes, property does have a history of doubling in price every 10 years. As the population grows and the amount of land remains the same, prices continue to be forced up. In the short term prices can go up and down, but over the long term property has continued to go up.
