In boxing, there is no hiding. You get in the ring and face each other. That is exactly what Mike Love and I did! We had a public feud, and we settled it in the ring. That is the right way to do things!
The BBC, on the other hand, like to control the narrative. They will criticise people, but seldom are they willing to sit down for a full unedited debate. That needs to change, if the BBC ever want the public to trust them again!

A boxing match is live, in front of an audience. There is nothing hidden, nothing censored. People saw the whole of the fight, and were able to form an opinion on every part of it.
When the BBC, or most other mainstream media outlets, speak about someone, they make the edits. You could do an hour-long interview with them, and they might only play 1 minute of it!
The BBC could learn from boxing. They should do more long-form, live, uncensored interviews with the people they criticise. Then maybe the public will start to trust the media!

Boxing is a meritocracy. The person who is best on the day wins. Your background doesn’t matter. It is about healthy competition.
The BBC, on the other hand, pushes an agenda of selecting people based on their immutable characteristics, such as race, gender, etc. They don’t want to pick the best person for the job, they want quotas. Be like a boxing match, let the best person win!
