Samuel Leeds Buying Churches?: In a recent video, I tell you about my big plans to buy a Church in my hometown of Walsall. Not to make a profit, but rather to save it!
Churches are closing down, and are being turned into other things. As a Christian, that doesn’t sit right with me! I don’t like seeing somewhere created to worship God being turned into a way to make money.
That’s why when I saw a church for sale in my own hometown, I decided to buy it! Rather than convert it into a home, I want to keep it as a church. I intend to give it to a congregation for zero rent! I want them to use it not only for Sunday services, but to help the wider community.
An offer has been placed on the building, and I am hoping to own it soon. In the meanwhile, I have been funding a soup kitchen. I have also leased one of my houses for free, to house and train homeless people to find work and long-term accommodation!

Since I announced that I was planning to buy a church, I have had a lot of support. People have been saying ‘is Samuel Leeds buying churches?’ ‘How can I help?’ People hate seeing churches having to close their doors, and they want to do something about it!
I am happy to do my part, and don’t need any help at the moment. However, there are things you can do to help save churches yourself!
In this article, I will give you 3 ways to help save churches from closing down. If everyone takes action now, we can stop churches from being shut down for good!

The first thing you can do to help keep churches open, is to go to church! That might sound obvious, but in many places church attendance is dropping. If you want to keep churches open, go to one!
As well as Sunday services, there is also opportunities to volunteer and help the community via your local church. This is a great option if you don’t have much money to donate.
2. Samuel Leeds Buying Churches?: Give!
The next way to support churches is to give to them. Churches need money to keep running, and to do work in the community.
If you think churches are an important part of the community and should stay open, consider making a regular contribution to one. Consider doing this even if you are not a regular churchgoer.
3. Samuel Leeds Buying Churches?: Buy!
If you are a successful business person or investor, consider buying a church! Buying a church, and allowing it to be used for free is a great way to ensure churches keep going.
As a Christian, I believe we are custodians over the money we have. Money is neither good nor bad, it is how you use it. If you feel called to save a church, do so. If you don’t have the money yet, take the time to learn the skills so that you do.
