Samuel Leeds Charity: In a recent video, I visited a 62 bed hospital ward I had built in Uganda to help people get the treatment they desperately need. We spoke to patients and staff, learning how this building will change lives. The project cost 1 billion Ugandan shillings (£300,000 including all costs and the exchange rate), but will mean the world to the people who use it.
If you would like to see exactly how I did it, please watch the full video until the end. You can find the video at the top of this page or on my YouTube channel.
Doing good in the world is very important to me as a Christian, and being wealthy allows me to do that. A lot of people, of all faiths and none, want to make an impact on the world but are unsure how best to do it. In this article, I will tell you my story of how I came to build this hospital ward, and how you can change the world for the better yourself!
Samuel Leeds Charity: 1. The Accident That Started Everything!
I received a message from a group of people in Uganda who asked me if I could come out there and do a business workshop with them. I decided to fly there and do a free workshop for them as a way of giving back. But unfortunately, the workshop never happened! The first day in Africa, I had an accident on the River Nile and broke my leg. I ended up in a small hospital to have my leg fixed.
At first, I wondered why God would want me here, rather than delivering the workshop to people that could really benefit from it. But then I saw there were people in a worse state than I was, that were being sent away for lack of space. I realised may be this was where my focus should be, and for a while now we have been giving equipment to this hospital. However, what they really needed was a new ward…
Samuel Leeds Charity: 2. How My Property Expertise Helped Deliver The Project!
When I first spoke to the government about the project, they estimated it would cost 3-6 billion Ugandan shillings, and wanted to use government workers to do it. As I know a thing or two about property, I wanted full control because I knew I could get it done fast, to a high standard and at a low cost.
This is one of the benefits of learning about property. You can be of great service to others. In the end, we did the whole thing for 1 billion Ugandan shillings! Now, the government is extremely happy with us and their president even sent me a message!
Samuel Leeds Charity: 3. Get Rich And Use It To Do Good In The World!
There are many ways to make an impact in the world. Yes, volunteers are very needed, particularly those with certain skills such as doctors. But what is really needed for most problems around the world is money! If you can give a lot of money to a cause, you can create real and lasting change.
If you don’t have a lot of money now, learn a wealth building skill such as property. Many of my Academy members now give back with me and are changing lives. Becoming financially free isn’t just about improving your own life. It is also about improving the lives of your family, your community, your country and the wider world!
