Starting A Property Business? 3 Powerful Tips From Sian Gabbidon’s Apprentice Journey

Starting a Property Business?: Sian Gabbidon, Winner of The Apprentice 2018, spoke at a recent Academy dinner to discuss top tips for success. She also shared inspirational stories from her victory of being selected to partner with Lord Alan Sugar. If you are starting a property business, I highly recommend watching the full video until the end. You can find the video at the top of this page or on my YouTube channel.

Sian’s business journey isn’t primarily about property, although she does do some property deals on the side. That said, however, there are some important lessons from her story that apply to anyone starting a business. In this article, I’ll give you 3 tips from Sian’s experiences that can help you with starting a property business. If you are inspired by Sian, please consider sharing this article on social media. The more people that are inspired to start a property business, the better!

1. Starting a Property Business? Start Small And Grow!

Many people know about Sian’s success on The Apprentice and how she became Lord Sugars’ business partner. Fewer people know about how she started her business from the ground up while working a job. It can often be overwhelming when you first think about starting a property business, but you have to start somewhere!

While you should never treat your business like a side hustle, that doesn’t mean you need to quit your job immediately. Start small and build up over time. Just make sure to put in consistent effort and track what you are doing. Focus your time on income producing activities and avoid procrastination.

2. Starting a Property Business? Resilience!

Sian’s business story is full of ups and downs, but she showed resilience throughout. Many people who start a property business give up when the going gets tough. This means that they never reach success. If you are thinking of starting a property business, you need to have the right mindset. You need to be able to get back up again every time you are knocked down.

The best way to do this, is to have things you are committed to doing each day. This could include: making 100 calls to landlords to get that rent-to-rent deal; viewing a certain amount of properties each day to package and sell as a deal sourcer; or attending all the property networking events in your area to find investors. Take these actions, come rain or shine, when your business is doing well and when it is doing badly.

3. Starting a Property Business? Network And Seek Mentorship

Sian’s partnership with, and mentorship from, Lord Sugar really helped her business grow. Networking and mentorship is important for anyone starting a property business. Find good people that have done what you plan to do and get their help and advice. Attend as many networking and training events as you can.

Being around the right people is important. Not only because you can learn from them, but also because environment is everything. If you are surrounded by people who are growing and succeeding, you will want to grow and succeed. If you are surrounded by complacency, you will become complacent. Get around people who will motivate you!
