1. How To Invest In Serviced Accommodation: You Can Own Or Rent The Property!
There are two ways to get started with serviced accommodation, owning a property or renting it. Hannah does both. If you have a buy-to-let property, you could consider turning it into a serviced accommodation unit. You could also consider buying a property specifically for the purpose.
If you don’t have a suitable property, and don’t have the funds to buy, you could rent a property. This is known as rent to serviced accommodation (rent to SA). Using a rent to rent contract, and with the landlord's permission, you can rent a property and then offer it for short stay lets at a profit.
2. How To Invest In Serviced Accommodation: Good Design Gets The Right Guests!
When Hannah first got her serviced accommodation property in Cornwall, it had a bland and basic design. It was attracting guests who were unwilling to pay premium prices, even during peak season.
Hannah transformed the property, creating a fun and homely atmosphere. This not only allowed her to charge more, but the guests were also much happier too. Take the time to make sure your serviced accommodation looks right, remember you are competing with hotels!
